  • Close your eyes; focus on your breath; watch the air as it flows out and then in.
  • First remember why you’re here; there’s all these millions of beings out there waiting for you to come and save them, beings you have created, pain you have caused, pain you must put a stop to.
  • The picture of them should come up quite naturally in your mind, you’ve been meditating for the past three weeks; you should have a store of images now that tug at your heart; use the faces of the people you’ve seen in your mind’s eye in pain.
  • Make a pledge in your heart; dedicate your life to them.
  • This meditation is about using the elements in your own body to help all living beings. First we’re going to get in touch with what these elements are exactly.
  • And then think about how sitting here in meditation is the best way to help them.
  • First the element of hardness inside your body; the structure that supports you, that keeps you from melting down like a pool of jelly, the bones. What keeps your body together? What keeps it root to the earth? All of that is the element of hardness or you could say the earth. Feel that now inside of you: a solid entity pulled down by the force of gravity, held together in certain shapes.
  • Then the element of liquidity, the water element. All the flowing substances inside your body, all the blood that’s flowing to every single part of you, the pulsing, coursing things, the malleability of your body, the fact that it can take different shapes, softness.
  • Then the fire element, the element of heat in your body coming from the core. The warmth that your whole body posses.
  • Where do these things come from? We normally take these basic elemental forces so much for granted. Where does the heat come from?
  • Then finally the element of motion in your body, the wind element. Feel the inner winds inside you moving. Think about how the body has the ability to move through space.
  • All these precious precious things that make up ourselves that make up our bodies. Now we are going to melt them down and give them away.
  • So first see all of the hard things in your body like your bones, melt that down into the raw element of hardness itself, that quality that gives strength and stability to things. And then send it out; send the element of hardness out to anyone who needs it like someone trying to build an adobe house, for instance, they will need a strong foundation; you can send them the element of hardness beneath their feet. You can make the ground itself so that people can rest on it, walk on it. You can make the foundations that protect people, their houses, their cars. You could make their own bodies stronger, support for them.
  • Next take all the blood, all the water in your body, melt it down into the element of liquidity. Send it out to every being to is thirsty right now, every being who wants to play in water. It’s great, the desert after a rain, you see the little birds come into the puddles. They only stay for about an hour the puddles, and they bath in the water, so happy. Send it out to all beings; make them rivers, make them oceans, make them lattes, give strength to the blood inside their bodies, anyone who problems with their blood coagulating. See it coursing through them now. Give all the water element away.
  • Then take all the heat inside your own body; melt it down into the element of heat, the fire element. Send it out, a ray of sunlight on a cold day, the sun itself, campfires, stoves to kook people’s food; enter into people’s bodies and give them inner heat; give everything away. Go to far far away planets that have no heat element at all and shine your warmth on them.
  • Then lastly all the motion contained within your body melt it down into the wind element, raw movement, then send it out. You can give people the exhilaration of speed, sticking your head out the window as you speed down the highway, flying in a plane, dance; send out the element of motion to everyone and give them the joy of what it’s like to dance, really dance; then send this wind element inside their bodies; move their inner winds, make the prana flow into their central channels.
  • Then feed all beings with your flesh; cloth them in your own skin; let them drink of your own blood.
  • Give until there is nothing left of you at all.
  • Okay, you can open your eyes.
